UPAYA PENANGGULANGAN TERHADAP TINDAK PIDANA JUDI ONLINE DI KEPOLISIAN RESOR MALANG SEKTOR DAU
One of the technology-based crimes that is currently frequently occurring in Indonesia is online gambling, which can be accessed using technological devices such as mobile phones and computers. The problems in this study are: 1) How are the efforts to overcome online gambling crimes carried out by the Dau Police, Malang Regency? and 2) What factors influence the efforts to overcome online gambling crimes carried out by the Dau Police, Malang Regency? This type of research is empirical juridical with data analysis techniques using qualitative descriptive analysis methods. The results of the analysis show that efforts to overcome online gambling crimes carried out by the Dau Police, Malang Regency are divided into two, namely penal and non-penal efforts. Penal efforts are carried out by conducting investigations and inquiries in accordance with applicable legal procedures. Non-penal efforts include providing an understanding to the public about the negative impacts of online gambling and utilizing official police social media as a means of education and disseminating information to the public. Supporting factors are regarding legal factors or laws, where the existence of laws or provisions, the legal settlement process can be implemented. The inhibiting factors include (a) law enforcement, (b) inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and limited operational budgets; (c) community factors; and (d) cultural factors, namely the existence of a societal culture that encourages individuals to gamble online. Furthermore, environmental influences also significantly influence the occurrence of online gambling crimes.
