Abstract

Subclinical mastitis in dairy goats reduces milk quality and quantity without clear clinical
signs, making early detection essential. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of
subclinical mastitis using the California Mastitis Test (CMT) at Pesona Satwa Farm,
Bandung. A descriptive quantitative method was applied to 30 lactating goats selected through
purposive sampling. The results showed that 10 goats (33.33%) tested positive for subclinical
mastitis with mild (+) and moderate (++) categories. These findings indicate that subclinical
mastitis remains an udder health problem, and CMT is an effective, rapid, practical, and
economical method for early detection.
