Abstract

tiktok social media has become part of the daily life of Gen Z and plays a role in shaping individuals’ perceptions of body image. Exposure to content presenting beauty standards, body transformations, and ideal appearances is assumed to influence how individuals evaluate their bodies. This study aims to examine the effect of tiktok usage intensity on body image among Gen Z in. This research employed a quantitative method using simple linear regression analysis. The participants consisted of 383 Gen Z and aged 13–28 years who actively use tiktok, selected through an accidental sampling technique. The research instruments used were a tiktok usage intensity scale and the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire (MBSRQ). The results indicate tiktok usage intensity has a positive and significant effect on body image (p <0.001) with a regression coefficient of 0.224. tiktok usage intensity contributes 4.27% to body image, while the remaining variance is influenced by other factors.
