Abstract

Employee retention is a critical issue in labor-intensive manufacturing industries, as high turnover rates can disrupt operations and increase recruitment and training costs. This study analyzes the effects of work-life balance and work environment on employee retention at PT Panda Indonesia IBE in East Java, Indonesia. Using a quantitative explanatory approach, primary data were collected from 88 production employees selected through the Slovin sampling method from a population of 113 employees. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression using SPSS. The results indicate that both work-life balance and work environment have a positive and significant effect on employee retention. Employees who experience a better balance between work and personal life, as well as a supportive work environment, tend to show a stronger intention to remain with the organization. These findings have important implications for human resource management in enhancing effective retention through flexible work policies and improvements in workplace conditions
