Abstract
Abstract. Thesis writing is an academic stage that often creates pressure, potentially reducing the psychological well-being of final year students. This condition is exacerbated by the high use of social media, which can trigger fear of missing out (FoMO), which is anxiety when individuals feel left behind in the activities or achievements of others, including in the thesis completion process. This study aims to determine the contribution of FoMO to the psychological well-being of final year students who are writing their thesis. The study used a non- experimental quantitative method with an accidental sampling technique and involved 264 respondents based on availability on campus who met the basic criteria. The research instruments consisted of the Fear of Missing Out Scale (FoMOS) and the Ryff's Scales of Psychological Well-Being (RSPWB). A simple linear regression analysis using SPSS showed that FoMO contributed significantly to psychological well-being, with a significance value of 0.020 (p<0.05). These results indicate that the majority of students have low levels of FoMO (53.79%) and also low psychological well-being (51.52%). These findings are expected to serve as a reference in understanding the contribution of FoMO to the psychological condition of final year students.
