Abstract

Distribution activities that are not systematically planned can increase fuel consumption and operational costs. This study aims to determine the optimal delivery routes to minimize fuel consumption at Supplier Lettuce Head Dau using the Fuel Consumption Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (FCCVRP) model solved with the Elephant Herding Optimization (EHO) algorithm. This metaheuristic approach considers vehicle capacity and fuel consumption as the main components. The results show that the implementation of EHO produces more efficient delivery routes compared to the existing routes by improving the sequence of customer visits and optimizing vehicle loading arrangements. Overall, the proposed model is effective in reducing distribution costs and can serve as an alternative approach for route optimization with the objective of minimizing fuel consumption.
