PERAN KESESUAIAN KARIR REMAJA-ORANG TUA TERHADAP WORK READINESS PADA SISWA SMK DI KOTA MALANG

Tight competition in the job market requires Vocational High School (SMK) graduates to have adequate work readiness. Although vocational schools are designed to produce graduates who are ready to work, the unemployment rate of vocational school graduates is still high, including in Malang City. This study aims to determine the effect of adolescent-parent career congruence compatibility on work readiness in vocational school students in Malang City. This study uses a non-experimental quantitative approach with a simple linear regression research type. The sampling technique used accidental sampling with a total of 399 vocational school students in Malang City. The instrument used to measure adolescent-parent career congruence compatibility is the Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence Scale developed by Sawitri et al. (2013), while work readiness is measured using the Work Readiness Scale developed by Wardani et al. (2021). Hypothesis testing was carried out using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS software. The results showed that career compatibility between parents and adolescents had a significant influence on the work readiness of vocational high school students (p < 0.05), although the contribution of the influence was relatively low (R² = 0.026). This finding indicates the importance of parental involvement and alignment of expectations in adolescent career planning to improve their work readiness.
