Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven changes in people's patterns in accessing and obtaining information, especially through social media. Instagram has become one of the platforms widely used as a means of disseminating public information. In this context, the Community Information Group (KIM) acts as an information bridge between the government and the public. This study aims to determine the perceptions of the Sukun Village community regarding the use of Instagram by KIM NUKUS (@kimnukusofficial) as a means of public information. This study uses a qualitative approach with an interpretative research type and a constructivist paradigm. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews and observations of seven informants who are residents of Sukun Village and active followers of the @kimnukusofficial Instagram account. Data analysis was conducted using the S-O-R (Stimulus-Organism-Response) perception theory which includes the stages of stimulation, organization, interpretation-evaluation, memory, and recall. The results show that the community generally has a positive perception of the existence of KIM NUKUS and the information content presented through Instagram. The information conveyed is considered relevant, easy to understand, and helps increase public awareness of local issues in Sukun Village. However, challenges remain, including limited information reach and uneven public participation. Therefore, while the KIM NUKUS Instagram account plays a fairly effective role as a public information platform, it needs to strengthen its communication strategy and increase public engagement to optimize information dissemination.
