Abstract
This study aims to describe the form, function, and meaning of language registers used by content creator teachers in social media Threads. The phenomenon of teachers who act as content creators presents new linguistic dynamics, namely the meeting between educator professionalism and digital communication styles that are relaxed, interactive, and multimodal. This study is conducted from a sociolinguistic perspective with a descriptive qualitative approach. The research data are words, phrases, and sentences contained in the uploads (Threads ) and comments of content creator teacher accounts in Threads , namely @fatkoer, @fikrisuhardi, @fiikriabdilah, @fakurly, and @muchsinridlo. Data collection was done through listening, screen capture, and note-taking techniques. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman's interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The analytical tools used include word formation theory (Ramlan and Kridalaksana), Halliday's language function theory, language meaning theory (Santoso and Keraf), multimodality approach, and teacher language characteristics. The results show that the GKK register in Threads is in the form of single and complex words that include affixation, reduplication, compounding, and abbreviation. In addition, the GKK register is also realized multimodally through the use of hashtags and emojis as topic markers, meaning emphasis, and audience engagement strategies. In terms of function, the GKK register performs instrumental, regulatory, representational, interactional, personal, heuristic, and imaginative functions. Meanwhile, in terms of meaning, the GKK register contains primary meaning and secondary meaning characterized by meaning relations and meaning changes influenced by the digital communication context. The conclusion of this study confirms that the register of content creator teachers in social media Threads not only functions as a means of delivering educational information, but also as a linguistic strategy to build proximity, authority, and professional image of teachers in the digital space. The registers used reflect teachers' language adaptation to the characteristics of social media that demand speed, conciseness, and attractiveness, without completely abandoning their pedagogical identity. Thus, GKK registers represent a hybridized form of educational language and social media language that marks a change in teachers' communication practices in the digital era.
