Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between online self-disclosure and academic stress among final-year students who actively use social media X. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants were 360 final-year students who were currently working on their theses, selected using purposive sampling. Online self-disclosure was measured using the Online Self-Disclosure Scale developed by Gibbs, Ellison, and Heino (2006), which was adapted into Indonesian by Massaro and Simanjuntak (2024). Academic stress was measured using the Student-Life Stress Inventory developed by Gadzella (1991) and adapted by Gamayanti (2018). Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using Spearman’s correlation analysis. The results revealed a significant negative relationship between online self-disclosure and academic stress. Students who were more open in expressing themselves online tended to experience lower levels of academic stress, although the strength of the relationship was relatively weak.
