Abstract

Abstract. Fine motor skills are abilities that require concentration, eye-hand coordination, precision, and speed between hand and eye movements. One of these fine motor skills is the ability to write. Writing skills are very important to develop, especially in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who attend school. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of sensory play media in improving fine motor skills in children with ASD. The type of research used in this study is a quantitative experimental approach with a Single Subject Research (SSR) A-B-A design. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with one subject, a child with ASD who has difficulties in fine motor skills. The results of the study showed an increase in fine motor skills after intervention using sensory play media. Therefore, sensory play media can be used as an intervention medium to improve fine motor skills in children with ASD. In future studies, it is recommended to use sensory play media to improve other developments such as social-emotional skills in children with ASD and to involve parents and teachers in monitoring the development of subjects at home and at school.
