Abstract

Economic growth is an important indocator in assessing the success of a region’s development. At the regional level, GRDP is used as the main measuring tool to see economic dynamics, especially in identifying sectors that play a dominant role. This study aims to identify and analyze the leading sectors in South Kalimantan during the 2019-2024 period based on the contribution to GRDP and sectoral growth rate. The analysis methods used include Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), and shift share analysis techniques to obtain sector classifications based on their role and potential in driving regional economic growth. The results of the study are expected to provide a comprehensive picture of the sectoral dynamics in South Kalimantan as well as the basis for formulating regional economic development strategies that are directed, inclusive, and sustainable. By focusing on leading sectors, local goverentments can increase competitiveness, create jobs, and accelerate the structural transformation of the economy towards more productive sectors.
