Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the management partners of the Girimulyo Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) in managing the egg-laying chicken business in the context of village digitalization in Giripurno Village, Batu City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of village business management. Data collection techniques include field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving BUMDes managers, business partners, egg-laying chicken farmers, and the village government as research informants. The results show that BUMDes management partners have a significant and strategic role in the development of the egg-laying chicken business. This role is reflected in the function of facilitating access to resources, coordinating production and distribution management, and initiating digital technology-based innovations. The implementation of digitalization is applied to the administration system, financial records, and marketing strategies, which has an impact on increasing operational efficiency, management transparency, and expanding the product marketing network. In addition, the application of digital technology also influences work patterns and social relations between actors in BUMDes, which are moving from conventional systems to more adaptive and integrated work patterns. Analysis using Anthony Giddens' structuration theory shows that managing partners act as agents with reflexive capacity to reproduce and transform the management structure of the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes). This process contributes to the sustainability of the egg-laying chicken business and strengthens the economic empowerment of village communities in the digital era.
