Abstract

Generation Z, defined as individuals born between 1997 and 2012, is increasingly entering the workforce with dynamic characteristics and a critical perspective toward the work environment, yet tends to exhibit relatively low levels of organizational involvement. The low level of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among this generation may be influenced by internal factors such as Internal Locus of Control (ILoC) and external factors in the form of Perceived Organizational Support (POS). This study aims to examine the effect of Internal Locus of Control and Perceived Organizational Support on Organizational Citizenship Behavior among Generation Z employees. This research employed a quantitative correlational design with a total of 396 Generation Z employees aged 18–28 years as respondents. Data were collected using adapted versions of the Work Locus of Control Scale (WLCS), Perceived Organizational Support scale, and Organizational Citizenship Behavior scale. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression techniques. The results indicate that Internal Locus of Control and Perceived Organizational Support have a positive and significant effect on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (p < 0.05). The findings highlight the importance for organizations to create a supportive work environment while fostering self-confidence and personal responsibility among Gen Z employees to enhance their positive contributions to the organization.
