Abstract

Karang Penang Highway is a Rural Collector road located in Sampang Regency with a 2-lane, 2-way undivided road type (2/2 UD), with a length of 2.00 km, a road width of 5.00 meters and a road shoulder of 1.00 m. Karang Penang Village is a center for small-scale industries of roof tile and clay craftsmen, characterized by the activity of vehicles transporting products that have the potential to worsen road conditions in the area. The damage that occurs with a PCI value of 50 with a pavement structure that has decreased, such as cracks, holes, and destroyed edges causes reduced comfort and safety for road users. Therefore, it is necessary to plan for repairing road damage by adding an overlay of flexible pavement using two methods, Bina Marga Manual Design of Road Pavement 2017 and AASHTO 1993. Based on the results of the analysis with the 2017 Pavement Design Manual, the AC – WC layer is 4 cm and AC – BC is 6 cm. Meanwhile, the analysis results using the AASHTO 1993 method obtained an overlay layer with Laston thickness of 13 cm. Of the two methods, the 2017 Pavement Design Manual method was chosen as the method in planning the thickness of the additional layer (overlay) with a total planned budget of Rp 5.805.603.139 .
