Abstract

This research aims to analyze effect of self-efficacy on entrepreneurial readiness with entrepreneurial interest as a mediating variable among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, class of 2022. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sampling technique applied was proportional random sampling with a total of 91 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using regression analysis and the Sobel test to examine the mediating effect, with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial readiness, entrepreneurial interest has a significant effect on entrepreneurial readiness, self-efficacy significantly influences entrepreneurial interest, and entrepreneurial interest significantly mediates the relationship between self-efficacy and entrepreneurial readiness. These findings suggest that self-efficacy and entrepreneurial interest play an essential role in enhancing students’ readiness to engage in entrepreneurship.
