Abstract

This study examines the influence of digital transformation and CEO STEM background on cybersecurity risk disclosure in Indonesian financial sector companies. Rapid technological advancements have led to an increasing cyberattack surface. Despite its increasing urgency, voluntary cybersecurity risk disclosure in developing countries, particularly Indonesia, remains suboptimal. This study aims to fill this gap by analyzing how digital transformation and CEO STEM influence the level of cybersecurity risk disclosure. This study uses a quantitative associative approach with a sample of 83 financial sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2023. Data were collected from annual reports and sustainability reports and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that digital transformation has a significant and positive impact on cybersecurity risk disclosure. However, CEO STEM background does not significantly influence cybersecurity risk disclosure. This suggests that STEM CEOs will disclose cybersecurity risks during digital transformation because stakeholders need information related to cyberattack risk mitigation. This study contributes to the literature by providing insights into the factors influencing cybersecurity risk disclosure in emerging markets and offers practical implications for regulators and policymakers in formulating better disclosure policies
