Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka emphasizes student-centered learning with the strengthening of twenty-first century skills, particularly collaboration and problem-solving abilities. One learning model recommended to support this approach is Project-Based Learning, which encourages students to actively engage in collaborative project completion. The use of interactive digital media such as Wordwall is expected to support the effective implementation of this learning model. This study aims to describe the implementation of project-based learning assisted by Wordwall and the improvement of junior high school students’ collaboration and problem-solving abilities. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects were 31 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Kertosono. Data collection techniques included observation of learning implementation, observation of collaboration skills, material and media validation questionnaires, and mathematical problem-solving tests. The results showed that the implementation of project-based learning assisted by Wordwall improved in each meeting. Students’ collaboration skills gradually increased, as indicated by improvements in activeness, interaction, role distribution, and responsibility within groups. Students’ problem-solving abilities also showed improvement in understanding problems, planning solutions, carrying out solutions, and reviewing the results. Therefore, project-based learning assisted by Wordwall can enhance junior high school students’ collaboration and problem-solving abilities in accordance with the demands of Kurikulum Merdeka.
