Abstract
This study aims to describe students' perceptions of the use of mobile games as a tool for learning English. It used quantitative methods with a questionnaire as an instrument to collect data. The questionnaire used in this study was a Likert Scale consisting of statements followed by five possible answers each. The respondents were 44 students of the English Language Education Department of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Furthermore, the data were analyzed with SPSS, and the results of computation were used to answer research questions. The research findings showed that students had a positive perception of the use of mobile games as media for learning English. Students think that mobile games make them more interactive, confident, motivated, focused, and concentrated. Mobile games help Students improve their English skills. Based on the statistical analysis, 68.2% of students stated that mobile games enriched their vocabulary, 63.7% of students stated that their listening skills got better by playing video games, 54.6% of students stated that their speaking skills improved by mobile games, 63.6% of students stated that their reading skills increased through mobile games, and 34.1% of students said that mobile games helped them promote their English writing skills.
