Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy and impulsive buying on students' financial management, with self-control as a moderating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with 90 accounting students from Universitas in Malang as respondents. Data processing was performed using PLS-SEM through SmartPLS 4.1.1.6 software. The results showed that financial literacy had a positive and significant effect on financial management, while impulsive buying had a negative and significant effect on financial management. Self-control was found to moderate the relationship between impulsive buying and financial management by weakening the negative effect of impulsive buying. However, self-control does not strengthen the influence of financial literacy on financial management. These findings confirm that financial understanding, consumptive behavior, and self-control play an important role in shaping students' financial management behavior.
