Copyright infringement cases in Indonesia remain an unresolved issue, continuously causing losses for both creators and copyright holders. This violation occurs when copyrighted works, such as songs, are used in a product without the permission of the creator or copyright holder. This research aims to delve into Decision Number 7/Pdt.Sus-HAKI/Cipta/2019/PN Niaga Surabaya in civil law and legal remedies for the aggrieved party. This research uses a normative legal method with a legislative approach, utilizing secondary data and legal materials obtained through literature studies and qualitative analysis. The results of this study indicate that copyright infringement exists, causing losses to copyright holders. One form of copyright infringement is the use of the creator's song in a product without the creator's and copyright holder's permission. The Copyright Law (UUHC) serves as a legal instrument that provides protection and compensation for parties who are harmed, including creators, copyright holders, and the state. Recovery efforts can be pursued through civil or criminal litigation, as well as alternative dispute resolution. In the ruling, the judge stated that the defendant was proven to have infringed copyright and the plaintiff's claim was partially accepted. This indicates that despite weaknesses in the plaintiff's legal standing, the judge still found a real copyright infringement that must be legally accounted for.
