Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of workload on employee burnout and to analyze the role of social support as a moderating variable in this relationship. A quantitative research approach was employed in this study. The population consisted of all employees of the Jombang District Health Office, totaling 113 individuals, with a sample of 90 respondents selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data were collected from primary sources through the distribution of questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the assistance of SPSS version 31. The results indicate that workload has a positive and significant effect on employee burnout at the Jombang Health Departement. Meanwhile, social support was not proven to moderate the effect of workload on burnout. Therefore, social support does not function as a moderating variable, as it is unable to strengthen or weaken the relationship between workload and burnout. These findings suggest that an increase in workload still has the potential to elevate burnout levels, even when employees receive social support in the workplace.
