This research aims to examine the implementation of debt and credit agreements secured by an agricultural land pledge system, as well as to analyze forms of default and the mechanisms for resolving such defaults in accordance with applicable legal provisions. The research problems include: (1) how debt and credit agreements using an agricultural land pledge system are implemented in Dusun Simpang, and (2) how defaults arising from the implementation of such agreements are resolved.The research method used is an empirical juridical approach, with data collection techniques carried out through field interviews with relevant parties, such as landowners and capital providers, supported by library research. This method is used to assess the conformity between contract law theory and legal practices occurring within the community.The findings indicate that debt and credit agreements in Dusun Simpang are generally conducted orally based on the principle of trust, with agricultural land used as collateral. In practice, instances of default were found, including the failure to fulfill agreed obligations, such as the non- implementation of sharecropping agreements. This condition is categorized as default because one party fails to perform its obligations as agreed.As a recommendation, the community is encouraged to enter into written agreements to ensure legal certainty regarding the rights and obligations of the parties. Furthermore, debt and credit agreements secured by agricultural land should also be accompanied by the formal.
