Abstract

Inventory control of raw materials plays an important role in maintaining the continuity of the production process while improving the efficiency of a company’s operational costs. PT Jaya Etika Beton, as a company engaged in precast concrete manufacturing, has experienced problems related to overstock and stockout conditions, which have disrupted the achievement of production targets and increased inventory costs. This study aims to determine the optimal order quantity in order to minimize total inventory costs by applying the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, as well as to maintain production continuity through the implementation of safety stock (SS) and reorder point (ROP) methods. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using a triangulation approach also comparing the company’s existing inventory policy with the EOS, ROP, and SS. The results indicate that the EOQ method provides a more economical order quantity compared to the company’s current inventory policy and is able to reduce inventory costs by 82%. Furthermore, the application of safety stock and an appropriate reorder point contributes to improved achievement of production targets.
