Abstract

Islamic Religious Education learning plays an important role in shaping students’ personality and behavior, particularly in instilling the values of discipline and honesty. These values serve as fundamental foundations of character development,
as reflected in obedience to rules, responsibility, and honesty in speech and actions. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of Islamic Religious Education learning on students’ disciplinary and honest behavior at SMP Negeri 1 Cisalak.
This study employed a quantitative approach using simple linear regression analysis. The research sample consisted of 202 ninth-grade students selected through simple random sampling based on the Slovin formula. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability, and the results indicated that all statement items were valid and reliable. Data analysis was conducted using the normality test, simple linear regression analysis, t-test, and coefficient of determination (R Square) with the assistance of SPSS version 19. The results revealed that Islamic Religious Education learning had a significant effect on students’ disciplinary behavior, with a coefficient of determination of 27.4%. It also had a significant effect on students’ honest behavior, with a coefficient of determination of 16.1%. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Islamic Religious Education learning plays an important role in shaping students’ disciplinary and honest behavior. Although other factors outside this study also influence students’ behavior, Islamic Religious Education learning remains a strategic component in strengthening positive behavior in schools.
