Abstract

This thesis is entitled The Role of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Handling the Humanitarian Crisis in the Sudan Conflict Region in 2023-2024. The Sudanese conflict is a multi-layered conflict that has occurred since 1955 with factors of ethnic and religious differences then experiencing issues that continue to develop, including the struggle for power that led to the outbreak of the Sudanese conflict in 2023 and the severity of the humanitarian crisis. This study uses a descriptive methodology with a qualitative research type to explain how the role of the ICRC as an international organization engaged in the humanitarian field in handling the humanitarian crisis that occurred in Sudan since the outbreak of the conflict in 2023 to 2024. The use of the concept of International Organization helps to know that the role of the ICRC in Sudan during one year of conflict, has fulfilled the role of an international organization as a reducer of conflict intensity and the role of an international organization as an implementing agency, namely an implementing agency for humanitarian aid.
