Abstract

Seaweed is an important aquatic product with high economic value and significant benefits for human life. Seaweed is used not only as a food ingredient but also as a raw material for the health and cosmetics industries, and the demand for seaweed is increasing for both domestic consumption and export. This study aims to determine the development strategy for seaweed cultivation in Labuhan Aji Village and to assess the socio-economic impacts of seaweed cultivation on the community. A SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis is the systematic identification of various factors used to formulate an organization or company's strategy. Based on the SWOT analysis, key strengths include suitable water conditions, land availability, abundant local seeds, and a spirit of cooperation among farmers. Opportunities that can be exploited include government support, high market demand, and improved access to technology and infrastructure. Meanwhile, weaknesses still faced include limited capital, inadequate post-harvest facilities, low technological mastery, and minimal product diversification. The main threats come from climate change, price fluctuations, and coastal environmental pollution.
