Abstract

The nervous sistem is one of the biology subjects that contains several abstract concepts, which are difficult for students to understand. Teaching the nervous sistem requires the teacher's ability to organize the lesson content as preparation to build students' knowledge. The use of flipbooks with several interesting features is considered necessary to assist the learning process of the nervous sistem material. The nervous sistem flipbook is expected to improve critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik. Students' critical thinking skills are aimed at enabling them to solve problems encountered when conducting an experiment. This research is a type of R&D study that uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The validation summary by media experts, language experts, and material experts obtained an Aiken’s V of 0.84, categorized as very valid. The practicality test results showed a value of 96.25% with a very valid category. The effectiveness test results of the flipbook on critical thinking skills were 40% in the control class and 72% in the experimental class, which means the flipbook is quite effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. The effectiveness test results of the flipbook on learning outcomes obtained values of 12.51% in the control class and 57% in the experimental class, which means the flipbook is quite effective for improving students' learning outcomes. Based on the analysis results, the nervous sistem material flipbook is quite effective for enhancing students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes.
