Abstract
Peranakan Friesian Holstein (PFH) cattle have high milk production potential and are well adapted to tropical environments. Milk quality, particularly total solids and fat content, is influenced by feed management and nutritional balance, including premix supplementation. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of premix supplementation on the milk quality of PFH cows at UD. Saputra Jaya. The study was conducted for 40 days using 18 PFH lactating cows in their first to third lactation, which were divided into three treatments: premix unggul, premix ultra, and without premix. The premix was supplemented at a dose of 100 g/head/day and mixed into the concentrate feed. The observed parameters were total solids and milk fat content analyzed using a Lactoscan Analyzer. Data were analyzed using a completely randomized design with ANOVA followed by Duncan’s test. The results showed that all treatments produced milk with total solids and fat content above the Indonesian National Standard (SNI); however, premix supplementation had no significant effect (P > 0.05) on milk quality. It can be concluded that premix supplementation at the applied dosage and duration did not significantly improve the milk quality of PFH cows, although the milk met national quality standards.
