Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) with the theme of Sustainable Lifestyle in strengthening Islamic character at SD Unggulan Muhammadiyah Patrol. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, documentation, and interactive data analysis. The findings indicate that the implementation of P5, designed through collaborative planning, experiential-based activities, and authentic evaluation, effectively fostered Islamic values such as amānah (trustworthiness), tahārah (purity), ukhuwah (brotherhood), shidq (truthfulness), and muhāsabah (self-reflection). Students’ activities during the project demonstrated active participation, discipline, environmental awareness, and spiritual consciousness in interpreting cleanliness and environmental care as integral parts of worship. These findings reinforce Van Meter and Van Horn’s implementation theory, particularly regarding the importance of communication, resources, and implementer characteristics; align with the ecopedagogical approach that emphasizes contextual, environment-based learning; and are consistent with classical Islamic character education principles that stress moral development through role modeling and habituation. Overall, P5 is proven to be an effective medium for integrative and contextual Islamic character education and has the potential to encourage sustainable behavioral transformation among elementary school students.
