Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the process of transforming Islamic educational values and to identify the forms of Islamic educational values that have been transformed at the Brigjend Soegiyono Mosque in Batu City. The research was motivated by the fact that formal educational institutions have not been optimal in instilling Islamic values, so that mosques play an alternative role in religious guidance for the community, especially teenagers/students. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. Data collection techniques used were observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included mosque administrators and congregants who were actively involved in religious education and guidance activities. Data analysis was carried out through a process of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, which was validated through source and technique triangulation. The results of the study show that the Brigjend Soegiyono Mosque implements the transformation of Islamic educational values through the management of religious programs, congregational guidance, role models, and structured mosque management. The values that are transformed include the values of monotheism, worship, morals, manners, and social values. This transformation has a positive impact in strengthening the Islamic character of the congregation and positioning the mosque as a center of non-formal Islamic education that is relevant to the dynamics of modern society. This study contributes to the development of mosque-based Islamic education studies and provides recommendations for strengthening the role of mosques in the religious guidance of the younger generation. Thus, mosques function not only as places of worship, but also as centers of character and spiritual education that are relevant to the needs of Islamic education in the modern era. This study is expected to have a positive impact on the development of educational institutions in general and to raise awareness among teachers to improve their competence so that they can become role models and teach educational values to students.
