Abstract

This study aims to examine students’ mathematical representation and mathematical communication abilities through the implementation of the cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT). Mathematical representation ability refers to students’ capability to express mathematical ideas using various forms, such as diagrams, graphs, symbols, and tables. Meanwhile, mathematical communication ability involves students’ skills in articulating mathematical ideas both orally and in written form. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with junior high school students as the research subjects. Data were collected through classroom observations, written tests, and semi-structured interviews to explore students’ mathematical representation and communication abilities in depth.
