Abstract

The declining moral degradation of students has prompted researchers aims to analyze the culture of living the Qur'an and its implications for improving the spiritual intelligence of students at the Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Madinatul Ilmi Gresik. The background of this study is based on the need to strengthen the spiritual dimension of students amid the challenges of modern education, which tends to focus on cognitive aspects. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with field research. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, with the main informants including the mudir, ustadz/ustadzah, and students of MBS Madinatul Ilmi. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and interactive conclusion drawing. The results showed that the culture of living the Qur'an at MBS Madinatul Ilmi was manifested through various religious activities, such as congregational prayers, tahajjud, tahfidz, tartil, murojaah, and diniyah learning. The implementation of this culture contributes positively to the improvement of students' spiritual intelligence, which is reflected in increased awareness of worship, discipline, inner peace, and the ability to interpret religious values in everyday life. This study concludes that the culture of living the Qur'an plays a strategic role in shaping the spiritual intelligence of students and can be a model for sustainable religious guidance in boarding school environments.
