Abstract
Padi (rice) is a vital staple food commodity that is crucial for supporting national food
security. However, the sustainability of rice production is often disrupted by disease
attacks, one of which is bacterial leaf blight caused by Xanthomonas oryzae. Although
Inpari 48 is considered a superior variety, it is known to still be susceptible to this
pathogen, especially during the germination phase. This research aims to: (1) Determine
the effect of the interaction between the dosage and soaking time of seeds with the
biological agent Lysinibacillus sp. through biopriming on the germination of Inpari 48 rice
variety. (2) Determine the effect of the soaking time of the biological agent Lysinibacillus
sp. through biopriming on the germination of Inpari 48 rice variety. (3) Determine the
effect of the dosage of the biological agent Lysinibacillus sp. through biopriming on the
germination of Inpari 48 rice variety. The research was conducted using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 2 factors. The first factor is dosage (D) with 6 levels:
D2 (30 ml), D3 (40 ml), D4 (50 ml), D11 (water control), D13 (water + bacteria control),
and D16 (bactericide control). The second factor is soaking time (W) with 3 levels: W1 (0
hours), W3 (4 hours), and W5 (8 hours). The observed variables included germination rate,
vigor index, KCT (Kecambahan Cepat Tumbuh/Fast Growing Germination), root length,
shoot length, wet and dry weight of the sprouts, and disease incidence before and after
pathogen application. The results showed that the interaction of dosage and soaking time
had a highly significant effect on germination rate, vigor index, growth speed, plumule
length, and wet weight of the sprouts. The dosage treatment of biopriming Inpari 48 rice
seeds with Lysinibacillus sp. had a highly significant effect on the wet weight of the sprouts.
The time factor had a significant effect on plumule length. Disease incidence showed that
the biopriming treatment with Lysinibacillus sp. was able to suppress the development of
Xanthomonas oryzae compared to the water control (D11) and the bactericide control
(D16).
