Abstract

SUMMARY

Seeds and seedlings play a vital role in agricultural businesses. This is because seeds carry genetic information that determines the outcome of agricultural activities. Even if environmental conditions are favorable, if the seeds used are of low quality, the harvest will still be less than optimal. Therefore, seed-related issues require serious attention as an effort to increase agricultural productivity. The availability of high-quality seeds is one of the determining factors for success in horticultural cultivation. Seed production at CV. Aura Seed Indonesia begins with a cultivation process that starts with soil preparation, cultivation, harvesting, and certification, followed by seed quality testing, packaging, and storage. This research was conducted with the aim of examining the stages and mechanisms (SOP) in the production process of hybrid cucumber seeds from cultivation to market readiness by CV. Aura Seed Indonesia. This final project used an approach through literature study, field observation, active participation, discussion or interviews, and activity documentation. The comparison between field implementation and literature study was an important point in this study. The seed production process for breeder seeds is carried out entirely by CV. Aura Seed Indonesia staff, starting from land cultivation to harvesting, followed by seed quality testing, seed packaging, and storage. The seed production process for extension seeds is carried out by partner farmers, starting from cultivation to harvesting. The harvest is then sent to CV. Aura Seed Indonesia. All seed production activities at partner farmers are supervised by the CV. Aura Seed Indonesia QC team, in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures, in order to maintain seed quality until the final stage of seed production.
