Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the GRAND MBA method (Gerakan Dakwah Mengajar dan Belajar Al-Qur’an) and its implications for improving students' Quran reading skills at Hidayatullah Senior High School Denpasar. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation involving the head of the school, Quran teachers, musyrif, students, and parents. The results show that the GRAND MBA method is applied through structured halaqah activities, talaqqi, tasmi’, and peer teaching, integrating cognitive, psychomotor, and affective aspects in Quran learning. The implementation of this method has a direct impact on improving students' Qur’an reading abilities, including the accuracy of letter articulation, successful application of tajwid rules, increased fluency in recitation, and the development of basic understanding of the verses' meanings. In addition, GRAND MBA also has implications for motivational and spiritual aspects, such as increased self-confidence, discipline, religious awareness, and the growth of a participatory da'wah culture within the school environment. Other implications are seen in strengthening social-religious interactions, where students not only act as participants but also as peer teachers who help others in Qur’an reading. This collaborative learning environment further accelerates the process of internalizing Qur’anic values. This study concludes that the GRAND MBA method is an effective and holistic approach to teaching the Qur’an, capable of improving reading quality while also shaping students’ Qur’anic character in the madrasah.
