Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of the Manhaji method in Al-Qur'an studies at the Majelis Taklim Ibu Shalihah in Nganjuk and analyze the impact of the Manhaji method on the understanding of the Al-Qur'an among the congregation of the Majelis Taklim Ibu Shalihah in Nganjuk. This research uses a qualitative approach and a case study research design. Data collection techniques used passive participatory observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation.
The results of the research shows that: (1) The application of the Manhaji method in an effort to improve understanding of the Qur'an at the Majelis Taklim Ibu Shalihah in Nganjuk is going well with several adaptations. The adaptations were made by taking into account the needs and abilities of the congregation, that limited learning time of 45-60 minutes, basic education level, namely understanding the meaning of words, material starting from juz 30 so that it is more applicable and relevant to everyday life, no basis for grouping congregations, and classical and spontaneous evaluation stages. (2) The application of the Manhaji method has had a significant impact on improving the congregation's understanding of the Al-Qur'an in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.
