Abstract
Mathematics instruction in schools often relies heavily on one-way lecture methods, which can make it challenging for students to grasp concepts, particularly the Pythagorean theorem. This material is crucial for solving real-world problems. To address this issue, we developed learning media using Augmented Reality (AR) technology to effectively visualize the Pythagorean theorem. The purpose of this study is to outline the process of creating AR learning media that illustrates the concept of the Pythagorean theorem and to evaluate its effectiveness. This research follows a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D development model, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Each stage of media development adheres to this model while incorporating feedback from validation instruments. The results indicate that the development process for the AR learning media was successful, producing materials suitable for student use. Additionally, the implementation of AR learning media in teaching the Pythagorean theorem significantly enhances students' understanding of this concept. The AR media is not only visually engaging but also aligns with various student learning styles, transforming learning experiences from passive to active and meaningful.
