Abstract
Economic development and technological advances have driven increased consumer behavior among adolescents, particularly Madrasah Aliyah students. Uncontrolled consumer behavior has the potential to lead to long-term financial problems if not balanced with a good understanding of and effective financial management. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy and family financial education on the consumer behavior of students at MA Muhammadiyah 02 Gresik, examining both partial and simultaneous effects. This study used a quantitative approach with an associative approach. The study population was all students at MA Muhammadiyah 02 Gresik, with a sample of 45 social studies students selected using quota sampling. Data collection was conducted through triangulation, comprising questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The research instrument used a Likert scale and was analyzed using multiple linear regression using SPSS version 29 software. The results showed that financial literacy had a negative and significant effect on student consumer behavior, meaning that the higher a student's financial literacy level, the lower their tendency to engage in consumer behavior. Family financial education was also shown to have a negative and significant effect on student consumer behavior. Simultaneously, financial literacy and family financial education significantly influence consumer behavior, contributing 67.3%, while the remainder is influenced by factors outside the research model. This finding underscores the importance of strengthening financial literacy in schools and the role of families in instilling financial management values from an early age to foster rational consumer behavior in students.
