Abstract

Self-efficacy is a crucial psychological aspect that influences how individuals think, behave, and respond to various challenges in life. One of the key abilities in dealing with problems is self-efficacy. One factor influencing self-efficacy in problem-solving is a father’s involvement in parenting. Based on this, the present study aims to determine the effect of father involvement in parenting on self-efficacy in problem-solving among early adults. The research subjects were individuals within the early adulthood age range, with a total of 349 respondents selected using the accidental sampling technique. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The instruments used were the Perception of Father’s Involvement and the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE). The results showed that there was a significant effect of father involvement in parenting on self-efficacy in problem- solving among early adults (p < 0.05). The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference to strengthen the father’s role in parenting and provide contributions for counselors, educators, and the community in fostering the development of self-efficacy during early adulthood.
