Abstract

In an era of scientific and technological advancement, countries around the world are competing to develop existing technologies into alternative technologies that offer better usefulness than before. Technological development itself has become a benchmark for a nation’s progress, and to support this, proper physical and non-physical facilities and infrastructure are required.

In physical development, particularly for future progress in carrying out construction work such as transportation infrastructure, dams, and other physical structures, specific requirements must be met. One such requirement is the availability of materials or construction aggregates, including graded aggregates or crushed stone obtained from mountains or rivers. However, obtaining the desired or specified aggregate gradation directly from nature (without processing) is very difficult, especially when large quantities are needed.

In rural areas in particular, to obtain crushed stone (graded aggregates), communities still use traditional (manual) methods. Therefore, a stone-crushing machine has been designed. In this final project, the calculation results for a hammer mill-type stone crusher will be explained to obtain the design and drawings of the machine. The calculations show that a 7.5 hp motor is required, producing a machine rotation speed of 4,433 rpm and a required force of 4,291 kg.
