Abstract
Rice is a major staple crop, yet national rice production has declined in recent years. The use of superior varieties such as Ciherang plays an important role in increasing yield due to its high adaptability, productivity, heavier grain weight, and desirable eating quality, although it remains susceptible to diseases such as Xanthomonas oryzae. This study aims to (1) determine the interaction effect of dosage and soaking time as biopriming treatments on Ciherang rice seeds using the biological agent Lysinibacillus sp. synthesized as nanoparticles to control the pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae during the germination phase, (2) determine the effect of dosage treatment as biopriming on Ciherang rice seeds using the biological agent Lysinibacillus sp. synthesized as nanoparticles for controlling X.oryzae during the germination phase, and (3) determine the effect of soaking time treatment as biopriming on Ciherang rice seeds using the biological agent Lysinibacillus sp. synthesized as nanoparticles to control X.oryzae during the germination phase.. The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with two factors: (1) dosage (D) at six levels [D1 (40 ml), D2 (50 ml), D3 (60 ml), D4 (water control), D5 (control without nanoparticles), D6 (bactericide)] and (2) soaking time (W) at three levels [W1 (no soaking), W2 (4 hours), W3 (8 hours)]. The results showed that there was a significant interaction between dosage and soaking duration on germination percentage (DB), vigor index (IV), growth rate (KCT), seedling height, and plumule length. The best biopriming treatment was obtained at doses of 40 ml (D1) and 50 ml (D2) with soaking durations of no soaking (W1) and 8 hours (W3). Biopriming using Lysinibacillus sp. synthesized as nanoparticles was able to suppress the development of Xanthomonas oryzae by up to 19.13%.
