Abstract
Background: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that primarily attacks the lungs. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that attacks white blood cells (lymphocytes) which causes the body's immunity to decrease and become susceptible to other diseases. Both are interrelated, resulting in opportunistic infections as the leading cause of death.
Objective: To determine the pattern of FDC use in HIV patients with pulmonary TB at Kediri District Hospital, including dose, frequency and duration of treatment therapy.
Method: This study used a retrospective descriptive method with a total sampling technique of 8 medical record data in pulmonary tuberculosis patients with HIV at Kediri District Hospital.
Results and Conclusions: Samples obtained from the Health Medical Records that met the inclusion criteria were 8 patients. Judging from the demographic data, the number of male patients was 5 patients (62,5%) compared to 3 (37,5%) patients. For the largest age group in adult patients with a total of 5 (62,5%). The majority of patients used adult follow-up FDC with a frequency of 1x3 tablets, with the dose adjusted based on body weight. The pattern of OAT use was in accordance with national guidelines, but ARV therapy was less noticed and the short duration of treatment was an important issue in the success of TB-HIV therapy.
