Abstract

The social work profession is responsible for handling individuals or groups experiencing social problems until they are able to overcome the difficulties they face. Because of these interactions, social workers are very vulnerable to burnout due to high work pressure and deep interaction with these individuals or groups, which can have a negative impact on social workers. Therefore, this study is important to analyze the influence of social support received as an effort to reduce the level of burnout that occurs in social workers. This study uses a comparative quantitative approach. The subjects of the study were 108 social workers from the Social Service in East Java who interact directly with social service recipients, selected through accidental sampling techniques. The scales used in this study were the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) scale and the Revised Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (R-MSPSS) scale. The data analysis method used was multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis showed that there was an effect of providing social support on the level of burnout in Social Service Employees in East Java. The contribution of social support to the level of burnout was 23.7%.
