Abstract

The application of the PBL (Problem-based Learning) model is suitable for improving biology learning outcomes and students' attitudes of responsibility. This study aims to determine the effect of the PBL learning model on learning outcomes and responsibilities of class XI A students of SMAN 1 Pronojiwo in biology subjects. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. This type of research is a Quasy experiment with a Non-Randomized Control Group Pretest-Postest Design research design. The population in this study were class XI A1 and XI A2 students at SMAN 1 Pronojiwo, totaling 69 students. The data analysis technique for students' cognitive learning outcomes used a data requirements test with the IBM SPSS Statistic 25 program and quantitative descriptive analysis for student responsibility. Data collection for this study used instruments in the form of multiple-choice tests for students' cognitive learning outcomes and observation sheets for student responsibility. Based on the results of the hypothesis test using the ANCOVA test, a sig value of 0.000 <0.05 was obtained. Because the sig value is smaller than 0.05, the use of the PBL model has a significant influence on students' cognitive learning outcomes. The results of observations of students' responsibilities in the experimental class have very high responsibility criteria with a score range of 80 - 100 and students in the control class have high responsibility criteria with a score range of 66.66 - 79. Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence in the use of the PBL model on cognitive learning outcomes and the responsibilities of class XI A students of SMAN 1 Pronojiwo..
