HUBUNGAN ANTARA CELEBRITY WORSHIP DENGAN KETIDAKPUASAN TUBUH PADA REMAJA

Body dissatisfaction is a negative feeling or dissatisfaction that a person experiences towards their physical appearance or body shape. Celebrity worship is excessive behavior towards the lives and appearances of celebrities, which has become a phenomenon among teenagers. This study was conducted to examine the relationship between celebrity worship and body dissatisfaction among teenagers. The researchers used a quantitative approach with data analysis techniques using pearson correlation test. The subject were 336 teenagers aged 15 – 20 years. This study used a 23 item celebrity worship scale and a 28 item body dissatisfaction scale. The result of the pearson correlation analysis showed that the relationship between celebrity worship and body dissatisfaction, with a correlation value -0.174 and a significance level of 0.001, was significant. This indicates that there is a negative relationship between celebrity worship and body dissatisfaction.
