Abstract

Psychological well-being is a condition in which a person has a vision for life, recognizes their potential, establishes positive relationships, and takes responsibility for their life. Work-related factors are important contributors to PWB. This study aims to determine and analyze the simultaneous and partial effects of burnout and job demands on the PWB of employees. The method used was quantitative correlational with a sample of 37 employees of the Probolinggo Regency National Unity and Politics Agency. The research instruments included burnout, job demands, and PWB scales. The results revealed that burnout and job demand had a negative effect on PWB. The contribution of burnout and job demands to PWB in this study was 84.5%. This means that the higher the burnout and job demands, the lower the PWB, while the lower the burnout and job demands, the higher the PWB tends to be. Burnout contributes to PWB with a regression coefficient of -0.583, which means that burnout has a negative effect on PWB. An employee with high burnout tends to experience a decrease in PWB, namely low mental and emotional health. Job demands contribute to PWB with a regression coefficient of -0.479, which means that burnout has a negative effect on PWB. Employees with high job demands tend to experience a decline in PWB. High job demands canlead to stress, fatigue, and decreased motivation, which in turn affect PWB.
