Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of financial literacy and lifestyle on financial management behavior with financial self-efficacy as a mediating variable among students at Muhammadiyah University Malang. The type of research used is explanatory research with a quantitative approach. The sample used in this study consisted of 102 students from Muhammadiyah University Malang. The sampling technique used was random sampling. The data collection technique used in this study was a questionnaire. The data analysis method used was path analysis assisted by SmartPLS (4.0) software. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that financial literacy affects financial management behavior. Lifestyle does not affect financial management behavior. Financial literacy affects financial self-efficacy. Lifestyle does not affect financial self-efficacy. Financial self-efficacy affects financial management behavior. Financial literacy affects financial management behavior through financial self-efficacy. Lifestyle does not affect financial management behavior through financial self-efficacy.
