Abstract
PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Tuban Plant faces a high rate of damage to the Kiln machine due to the implementation of a corrective maintenance system, which leads to increased downtime and operational costs. This study aims to propose a preventive maintenance system using the Modularity Design method to reduce costs and improve maintenance efficiency for the Kiln machine. The research adopts a quantitative case study approach, where failure and downtime data are analyzed using Weibull distribution, Mean Time To Failure (MTTF), and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) to determine the optimal maintenance interval for each module. The results show that the application of the Modularity Design method can reduce the total annual maintenance cost from Rp3,019,148,320 to Rp2,371,537,002, achieving an efficiency improvement of 21.45%. In conclusion, the maintenance system based on Modularity Design is more effective than the current method, as it significantly reduces failure frequency and maintenance costs. Therefore, it is recommended as a strategy to enhance the reliability and productivity of the Kiln machine in the cement industry.
