PERSEPSI DUKUNGAN SOSIAL DAN ADVERSITY QUOTIENT PADA MAHASANTRI

Mahasantri are indicated to have problems in their adversity quotient, characterized by leaving the Islamic boarding school before graduating, skipping Islamic boarding school activities and feeling that the rules and activities of the Islamic boarding school are too strict and busy. To improve the adversity quotient of mahasantri, one of which is through the perception of perceived social support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support and the adversity quotient of mahasantri. The research design used quantitative. The sampling technique used cluster sampling and census methods in Malang City, involving 260 subjects divided into three Islamic boarding schools. The measuring instrument used was an adaptation of the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and Adversity Quotient (AQ). Data analysis tests used Pearson product moment correlation which resulted in a significant positive relationship between social support and the adversity quotient of students (r = 0.190; p = 0.002). The results of this study are expected to be a reference for developing further research in the field of psychology.
